When a dark power enshrouds the Earth after a total solar eclipse, the scattered Sailor Guardians must reunite to bring light back into the world. The upcoming adventures are set in April, when the cherry blossoms are in bloom and Tokyo is in a festive mood as it celebrates the largest Total Solar Eclipse of the century. As the new moon obscures the sun and gradually dims its light, Usagi and Chibi-Usa encounter Pegasus, who is in search of the chosen Maiden who can break the seal of the Golden Crystal. Meanwhile, a mysterious troupe called the Dead Moon Circus appears in town who's nefarious plan is to scatter the nightmare incarnations known as Lemures, seize the 'Legendary Silver Crystal,' rule over the moon and the earth, and eventually dominate the entire universe...

Disappointing music and voice acting. I have no idea why they brought Yasuharu Takanashi on board when they could have hired the talented Shiro Sagisi (Evangelion) who truly composes amazing battle music. Sailor Moon Eternal's battles were absolutely lacking in tension and truly deserved better in light of the original composer no longer being with us (You will forever be remembered Takanori Arisawa). The voice acting was disturbing, when Mamoru falls ill Chibiusa barely reacts. Also lots of characters sound monotonous during important scenes. Visually it has improved a lot, the new art style is very fitting for a remake. Animation has stayed at the quality of season 3. Overall it's very watchable if you are a fan but you would rightly demand more in the age of modern animation where we can have flawless creations such as Violet Evergarden and Eva (2021 movie). It also follows the manga without adding more to develop the villains in the arc, I think it would have been achievable even in the short time. Nehelenia looked harmless. The main focus is Mamo-Usa, which is perfectly fine but when you have such a limited amount of time you really need to make sure the others don't get overlooked. I am keeping my hopes up for Stars and wish for a better OST and animation because this series deserves more

Beautiful to watch, exceptionally faithful to the source material, this adaptation of one of the most compelling arcs of the manga is done right, from the dubbing to the outstanding score and finally doing justice for the strenght of the Inner and Outer Senshi.
