Audience Member This IS Tanya Harding's story. However, it is also the story of what happened in women's single's figure skating in 1994. It is truly a story about what figure skating WAS in 1994. The idea of the ice princess vs the strong athletic skater. Tanya Harding was the Venus Williams of women's figure skating in 1994. The problem was that athletic ability was sacrificed to the aesthetic of traditional feminine beauty and grace. And then the media got involved......
