Steve D Solid film with a worthy subject. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Audience Member The best inspiring movie ever made! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member good WWII pic from WWII Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Best war movie that shows the hardships of injured soldiers returning home. Most war movies like to focus on the action of the battle, glory of a general or other individuals. Rarely do movies tell the story of the homecoming. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Powerful war film, which focuses more on the wounded soldiers adapting to life after returning home that it does on the war itself. It is melodramatic, but it needs to be to make it?s point. The performances are outstanding by everyone in the cast. John Garfield and Eleanor Parker are excellent in the leads. Rosemary DeCamp, John Ridgely, Ann Todd and Dane Clark provide great support. It is a great and inspiring story, and that story was nominated for an Academy Award. Good direction by Delmer Daves. It has a very creative dream sequence. It was an important film in it's time and paved the way for the similar The Best Years of Our Lives. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is more about trauma and human relations then the Marines. Fun to watch the 40's technology: cross country train, long distance phone calls. Great post war motivation. Next--the 50s. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
