I’ve watched and rewatched it several times in the last 6 hours. Ms. Mattison came across as beautiful, willful and smart, the way Lizzy Bennet is; she acts and sings amazingly well. Mr. Mortelitti may not have as much gravitas as I imagined Mr. Darcy have, but he exudes confidence, acts well enough, sings beautifully, and is easy on the eyes. The pace of the story is perfect, the script is funny at the right times. Never would I have guessed that Mary Bennet would be “so droll”; she even became one of my favourite characters in this play! Mrs. Bennet is great, Mr. Bennet is my other favourite, the way Donald Sutherland’s version was. I do miss “the last man in the world whom I could ever be prevailed upon to marry”, and I wish the songs were more similar to the book, but I do love “Headstrong” and 1-2 other songs.
