      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It doesn't offer much in the way of substance, but Prince of Persia is a suitably entertaining swashbuckler -- and a substantial improvement over most video game adaptations.

Raven M It is a film that tries to fit in too much from the first two videos games in the Prince of Persia that doesn't pay off well at all . Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Soteris S This movie really tried to recreate the charm of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Although it failed, it still managed to produce an enjoyable fantasy adventure film with good action, a solid soundtrack and passable acting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review Kevin W I really liked the movie. The story was told well and I liked the characters. It is good I realize to ignore the movie "critics". They read way too much into a movie. There were some parts that made no sense but it is a movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review John R Decent acting and good plot, but the actual photography and style was terrible. Cliche slow motion shots, weird camera angles and cuts that seem to show the actors making the worst faces. The actual production was terrible. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review ahmed m fun to watch -perfection is different than good enough Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review mali c Action, humor, great formula for good movie ;) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Keith Uhlich Time Out A Jerry Bruckheimer-produced video game adaptation-it has to be good, doesn't it? (Ya, sarcasm.) Rated: 2/5 Nov 18, 2011 Full Review Nick Schager L.A. Weekly [A] cacophonous, frivolous adaptation of Ubisoft's Arabian Nights-themed video-game series. Jun 7, 2010 Full Review Peter Rainer Christian Science Monitor The sheer whoosh of the story line keeps you watching anyway, and, as the prince, Jake Gyllenhaal has a hearty good-naturedness that comes as a relief amid all the turbocharged antics. He wears his heroism lightly. Rated: B- Jun 4, 2010 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review When so many summer blockbusters try desperately to achieve a balance between escapism and quality filmmaking, this movie’s lack of effort to be anything but standardized is insulting. Rated: 1/4 Aug 18, 2023 Full Review Stuart McGurk NME (New Musical Express) While it doesn't really work as a whole, the set-pieces are diverting enough along the way. Rated: 2/5 May 19, 2021 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The only redeeming factor is Ben Kingsley, who seems to genuinely enjoy his terrible role.
