ralph d A comedy that was probably old-fashioned even with it came out, let alone now. An image of conservative Britishness of long ago. As to story, ridiculously outdated. But the combination of great actors such as David Niven and Deborah Kerr, and their tongue-in-cheek performances, still work. I prefer it, for instance, to The Bishop's Wife, also with David Niven, which receives far better reviews but puts to much emphasis on the church for my liking. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review kevin w Major stars in a very minor effort, capitalizing off the controversy in 1968 over the sexual revolution (which was itself a over-advertised tempest in a teacup). This bore of a film does not merit even a mention. Absolutely horrendous. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I haven't seen it in years but I thought it was a VERY funny look at changing sexual mores and that it was quite engaging. I certainly wouldn't call it "sleeze" nor would I call it "anachronistic." I think it is a perfect snapshot of a time almost 50 years ago when society was changed forever by the advent of "The Pill."
