Jay W The inherent problem with any movie from a T. V. Series is that it inevitably ends up feeling like just another T. V. episode. Not saying that's a bad thing, I happen to be a huge fan of Psych, or "Psycho" as we call ourselves. But even as a psycho I would say that this is just another episode, and to be honest not even one of their best episodes. The movie has moments that take our two main characters a few too many steps past over the top. The opening scene with Lassie and a scene where the two argue about a purse in the bathroom are prime examples. The movie also has a lot of loose ends that they never tie up. It feels like 4 different characters have story arcs that don't get any satisfactory pay off. This may be fine if it were a T. V. series and those plot points would be resolved in later episodes. But as a movie, it just seems like they are sequel baiting. All that being said, this movie was very funny. It had double digit number of times that a joke would make me laugh embarrassingly loud. For every joke that I think went on too long, there were about 2 more jokes that hit their mark just right. Much like the crime solving duo themselves, the movie may take a while to get to the solution, but it always manages to get the job done in the end. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Frank A I loved the Psych series, and am glad they are still making an occasional movie. Regretfully, Psych 3 missed the mark. The series was more intelligently done and well timed humor. Psych 3 often felt like it drifted into laziness, and depended on being propped up by memes from the series. The ending with Curt Smith and the reverend on laptop video chat was painful. There was no realism to the reverend getting confused between a wedding and an exorcism multiple times. It was mildly amusing the first time it happened, but repeatedly happening became insulting. Curt Smith should not have had that much screen time. Hopefully he won’t be in Psych 4, if it ever happens. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/25/24 Full Review DoubAnon I also love this movie as well, but seriously, this movie also needs to be on DVD and Vudu. Please also make this possible. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/23 Full Review Jane P You won't find a funnier show that's always fresh and original despite so many seasons and movies. Gus and Shawn have so much chemistry which makes it that much better, the whole cast do. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant just brilliant! The comedy in this never disappoints even after a third film it still amazes me that the original creators of the show haven’t run lot of ideas for the show. Hopefully we see more of them in the future. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Kyle M Unable to distant themselves from having an extended episode as it's their preferred style, but true cinematic lengths would round out their arcs than as obligated strings, this third film of informality actually improves by little margin with an intriguing case, less awkward cheese and more hilarity fueled by the cast's dynamical antics.
