William H It was a good movie but it lacked the oomf of the series and was too short. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Hilarious. Even after the long break between the final episode of the show and this movie. They are all still great at their roles. Highly recommend if you are a fan of the tv show. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review victor o I have been a fan of the TV show Psych ever since the show began in the final season. Shawn Spencer, the amateur detective with a brilliant photographic memory with a loudmouth has successfully passed himself as a psychic helping the police solve crimes. But years have passed since his last case when he's called out to solve a case with his old friend Burton ‘Gus' Guster in a new town for an old friend. Having taken his business to San Francisco, Shawn is more or less making do until he does a favor for both his girlfriend Juliet and his old boss Chief Vick. But Shawn learns this case is much larger than he could have imagined because it's not just his friend and boss who have a connection to this case but an old foe from the original series. Despite the seriousness of the situation, this movie delves back into what made the original show fun. The 80s references, the pineapple gag, Shawn's goofy humor, and Gus' lothario antics. Many characters make happy returns with one or two cameos. All in all, this was a fun return to a show that I still enjoy watching reruns. Devon Ivie New York Magazine/Vulture We finally get our Lassiter moment, and boy is it a textbook definition of "poignant." Dec 28, 2017 Full Review David Wiegand San Francisco Chronicle In truth, the movie isn't quite up there with some of the more memorable episodes from the show, but whether you're a veteran pineapple-head or a newcomer to the silliness, Psych: The Movie is welcome comic relief. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 28, 2017 Full Review Maureen Ryan Variety Psych: The Movie is exactly what I thought it would be. That is a good thing. Dec 6, 2017 Full Review Rob Lowman Los Angeles Daily News If you liked the series - you had eight years to find out - you'll like the movie. Dec 28, 2017 Full Review Emily Ashby Common Sense Media Detective show follow-up will delight fans, some violence. Rated: 4/5 Dec 19, 2017 Full Review Carolyn Hinds Black Girl Nerds Psych: The Movie gave me everything I needed and more than I hoped for. The relationship between Gus and Shawn remains the same, one filled with affectionate insults, mutual expressions of exasperation and, above all, love and snacks.
