Warmhearted. Unfortunately, it's also softheaded...The music in 'Pure Country 2' is quite listenable, but the plot that surrounds the songs is utter hokum.

This movie had nothing to do with the first movie which I would've expected. I would have liked to see it take a more sequential direction. It starts off strong and then it's a bit all over the place. Bobby goes to Nashville and finds instant success which is a little hard to believe. Along her journey she makes a few mistakes and quickly finds herself in a bad place. I think Ella was a strong character and Bobbie does have raw talent with her voice. I liked the Christian messages that were being delivered throughout the movie. It was a little confusing at times and too many things going on at once but overall I think this was possibly a breakout role for Bobbie.

I enjoyed it. While Katrina Elam (lead female role) did perform all of the songs in the film, it looked as though she was miming them (which of course she was because they were mixed then re-played) so I didn't enjoy that part of it. In saying that, it is what it is....a normal every day country music movie and really wasn't anything wrong with it.

The wife and I liked it but if you are against a movie with a moral back story, a terrific singer and movie you can enjoy with the kids then SAW is probably more up your alley anyway...
