Audience Member A strange but authentic coming-of-age/road trip combo with incredible performances from all of the leads. The geography and timeline of the story are a bit disorienting but that's a small price to pay to see young women's stories told in such a sensitive manner. I will now employ the phrase "I'm going to Holland" as a euphemism for "I'm going to get drunk: Czech-style!" It is a Czech girl’s coming of age movie, like Now and Then crossed with Show Me Love. It had a lot of sincerity even though it was a bit all over the place. It is like all the dramas of your late high school life rolled into a few days. I could relate to the characters and they were really warmly treated. I felt like the director really loved their project and the people she was portraying, in contrast with Autumn Ball. It made me cry and the (”taboo-breaking”) sex scenes were so well done. Erotic and evocative of first times and sexual awkwardness/overwhelm without being tacky and trite. Also the (critical) portrayals of Czech society and culture that were in the corners of many scenes struck me as being quite accurate, as well as the portrayal of young people’s lives in the Czech Republic. So it’s specific as well as being universal. Chaotic but sincere. Reminded me some movies from old czech wave from 60`s and some movies of Fassbinder. Highly recommended example how can low budget movie can be attractive and fresh. If all young czech moviemakers would be like this, then I see there future of czech firlm industry in pink colours. Banda mladych holek (3) ma jet o prazdninach stopem do holandska na brigadu. Nicmene cely dil se odehrava v cechach, neb odjezd se jim diky rodicum jedne z nich a jejich nevyspelosti znacne komplikuje. Zkratka film o pubertalni nedozralosti na ceste... ;-) Takova pubertalni ceska road movie.
