"Quad Gods" -- a feature-length documentary directed by Jess Jacklin and produced by Johnny Fego (with executive producers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady) -- follows the lives of three New Yorkers with quadriplegia who meet in a neuro-rehabilitation lab at Mount Sinai Hospital and create the world's first all-quadriplegic Esports team. Blake, Prentice and Richard must navigate NYC, provide for their families, and confront ableism as they pursue their shared dream to compete as athletes. It is a story of friendship, survival, and grit that subverts our assumption about disability.

David Ehrlich indieWire This is a glancing but affectingly intimate study about four people who prove to themselves -- and to each other -- that their brains can be every bit as malleable as their bodies, so long as they’re able to remap the controls. Rated: B Jun 11, 2024 Full Review Daniel Fienberg The Hollywood Reporter Quad Gods is/could be/should be a pilot for a TV series, which means I want more — more characterization, more depth, more esports — and that’s praise in and of itself. Jun 11, 2024 Full Review John Serba Decider Quad Gods is a stylistically and thematically fascinating documentary memorable for its emotional honesty. Jul 30, 2024 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest There may be a lot of innovation on display in “Quad Gods,” but what works for both its subjects and the film itself turns out to be an old fashioned sense of community. Jul 10, 2024 Full Review Christopher Campbell Nonfics While the documentary is slower and takes a longer time to get going than expected, we do eventually come to care about these men and find inspiration in their lives and achievements.
