Audience Member The music, plot, and direction are all compelling. Though sometimes crude, the humour is not lost on an international audience. Definitely worth a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Love this movie!!! It was an urban fast-paced move away from those rural poetic films that were churned out by African filmmakers in the 80s to 90s. Being a city girl, this movie made sense of some of my glocal experiences of being "African." Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This is definitely a movie that invokes a good deal of nostalgia for Cameroonians who grew up in Yaounde. A "mystical sex farce from Cameroon," the film features a colorful cast of characters comically depicting the sexual politics played out in this popular neighborhood and indeed in the whole country. Clearly influenced by Spike Lee, Bekolo utilizes clever editing, still photography and dialogue to draw you into the otherwise mundane lives of these characters. Definitely one of my favorite films.
