While it's refreshing to see a war film veer into the supernatural so quietly, R-Point lacks the much-needed dramatic tension to get us through its slow-moving 110 minutes. Go to Full Review

nick s Oct 18 A pretty good watch with tense acting and plenty of good moments. But in the final denouement there still seemed to be loose ends. See more Darren D @DarrenJD Aug 23 Su-chang Kong's psychological horror "R-Point" uses the backdrop of the Vietnam War & the time South Korean's military spent there to tell it's slow burn supernatural tale of being haunted by past misdeeds & the brutal history of the land around them as paranoia starts to grow within the platoon. See more Sameir A 12/05/2021 The film is definitely a very good horror experience with a lot of mystery and suspense elements. A major issue for the Non-Korean viewers is that, it is difficult to differentiate the characters in the beginning with same face and the names you cannot understand. Only in the end, you become familiar with the characters, that demands a second watch. Unsolved mysteries can be excused as the creator's cinematic freedom, but here, the audience should explain themselves each and everything, not everyone can digest it. See more 05/09/2021 I watch a lot of horror movies. All of them. This is in its genre one of the best horror-military movies ever. Hands down. See more 01/25/2019 It was ok/not good. It had a good but unoriginal concept that wasn't executed as well as it could've been. It tries to scare via the atmosphere/suspense and via some scares, but imo it fails at both. Its not thaaat bad, but I wouldn't recommend it. Korean cinema has so many better options. The main problem is that it's fairly predictable and you know how its going to end. See more 03/28/2017 This was one of the first films I recall watching back during the Asian horror boom of he early 2000s, and I was happy to give it another look recently. This is a really creepy ghost story, with a platoon of Korean soldiers looking for a missing patrol unit, only to find themselves very much out of their element. Well worth a look, give it a rental.
