The original version is a beauty. I understand Angers later changes as an attempt to show the permanence of film in changing cultures, but he loses the beauty as he knows. His main point is that things are more violent and less lyrical or beautiful. I think the latter version is itself a comment on bastardisation.

This may not be Anger's best movie but it sure as hell is the one that's always playing on repeat. Lovely filmmaking.

Decades ahead of its time... at least 3. Nightmares are made of this stuff, but Anger makes nightmares with so much more fluent style.

This movie was so annoying. It's repetitive, slow, and strange. It's an experimental film so there's really not a story, but it has something to do with a clown loving the moon or something, I think. Anyway it got on my nerves, and I don't recommend seeing it.

Kenneth Anger livre un court métrage (dont j'ai vu la version "longue" de 15 minutes) qui relève plus du théâtre filmé que du cinéma. Bien entendu dépourvu de dialogue et comportant d'habituelles références ésotériques, Rabbit's Moon pourrait lasser s'il n'était pas visuellement réussi (si on aime voir la vie en blanc et bleu).
