Variety Staff Variety Here is an extremely violent, sometimes nauseating, picture about a young woman affected with rabies, running around Montreal infecting others. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Time Out None of the other recent apocalypse movies has shown so much political or cinematic sophistication. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Almar Haflidason BBC.com Ultimately Rabid boils down to zombified sluts and shock moments but it's an irresistible combination that Cronenberg handles well. Rated: 3/5 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …stands the test of time as a cautionary tale with added absurdity… Rated: 3/5 Jun 14, 2023 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Erratic as a thriller but interesting as a testing ground for Cronenberg’s themes and techniques. Jonathan O The original of Rabid is the 70's of pandemic with zombie look alike is really gory, disturbing, frighting and thrilling film and David Cronenberg did really fantastic work of body horror. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/24 Full Review Alejandro E David Cronenberg's second work is not as energetic as the first. However, with all its ups and downs, the story of a rabies pandemic is not boring and would serve as a model of inspiration in the future; 28 days later and World War Z, to go no further. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/24 Full Review David W Rabid offers one of the more realistic portrayals of a zombie outbreak, albeit with some hallmark Cronenberg embellishments. Suspense slowly builds throughout with the help of an anxiety inducing score. I would definitely watch this again. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Josh G I really this one you have early christoper walken, and solid premise. Only thing is the story drags at points and rambles but great gore and good time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Craig B A bit of a ‘nothing' movie really. It's most notable redeeming feature was an attractive female lead. One of Cronenberg's worst movies in my book….he's done much better, The Fly being one of those. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Benjamin H Superb special effects. It makes me hungry. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
