Kyle C Who the fuck recommended this to me?? I hated it. It's uncomfortably obsessed with sex and sexuality, none of the characters behave anything like a real person, and there are way too many side plots for any single story to have any weight. I didn't give a shit about a single character or storyline. Its social critiques are somehow both heavy handed and curiously vague at the same time. Very few redeeming qualities; do not watch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/30/23 Full Review Audience Member One of my requirements for most movies is at least one likable character. Not this movie. To boot, there was more than the average number in a movie that were unlikable. Luckily, those negatives were offset partially because many of the unlikable characters died off. Yay! There are good twists, not that the twists weren't predictable but there was more than 2 options to every twist incident, so guessing was like a multiple choice question. The movie was slow for a horror movie, excruciating in some scenes. There were an inordinate amount of people in the forest considering it was closed/off limits to the public. Do all the cars in Israel have a hard time starting, including police cars? Due to being set in a forest, using no studio sets, no CDI, a large budget was not required to make the movie, so not so much good money was thrown after bad. In general the movie was extremely, irritating. In the hands of the right director it could have been an excellent black comedy. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This to me was like a spoof... so cliche.. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member The problem with Slasher films is that they quite often take a promising storyline, and then fail to develop it into something superior, elevating the sub-plot above that of the main plot: "Let's see how many diverse ways we can depict to annhilate (most of) the cast within the timeframe of the film." - irregardless of how much it ruins the main plot. A sister confined in a pit in a forest starts the tale. Her brother heads off to go for urgent help, only to meet with disaster with a carload of teenagers, and therefore allowing The Big Bad Guy to intervene and claim his prize before he gets back. Intervention number 2 comes in the shape of a forest warden and his dog. Add to it the arrival of two odious police officers sent to assist, whose personal agendas culminate in an encounter that is terrifying and unlawful for the two girls of the group that were in the car. Result: The makings of a terrific plot squandered in the second half of the film for the more predictability of the cliched sub-plot. Usual modes of demise are here: Stabbing; Gunshot; Hackings; Impaling on spikes. Add an old minefield into the equation, by the time one goes boom, it is a case of past caring who, if anybody, survives. It is a pity when you have such a competant cast and crew that could be used much better. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Lame, but relatively entertaining. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Worth watching. Not all that much point to the film except a lot of bad things happening to a lot if people. No real payoff in the end but it was fun. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Brian Tallerico The Deadbolt One of those fascinating horror movies that never gets too weird to lose its footing but also stays completely unpredictable. Oct 6, 2011 Full Review Andrew O'Hehir Salon.com Takes the standard stupid-kids-in-the-woods formula and inverts it to delicious, hilarious and extremely mean effect. Apr 28, 2011 Full Review Perri Nemiroff CinemaBlend The pacing is great, the performances quite good and the cinematography noteworthy; the killer in Rabies are the tonal troubles. Is it a horror film or is it a comedy? Rated: 3/5 Apr 22, 2011 Full Review Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus Rabies is a very successful, if small scale, work of horror filmmaking fun. Apr 1, 2020 Full Review Patrick Gamble CineVue This nihilistic, gutsy film's combination of rich ideas and a cultivated ability to deliver all the scares you desire from a good piece of suspenseful gore is an unconventionally infectious product of a thriving Israeli film industry. Rated: 4/5 May 24, 2019 Full Review Naila Scargill Exquisite Terror The central story is drowned in subplot after subplot, red herrings running amok to the point of frustration.
