Todd (Timm Sharp) grew up under the strange shadow of his older, mentally-challenged brother, Shonzi. As kids, Shonzi forced Todd to make action movies. As adults, Todd is pressured to share love life details, even showing Shonzi a sex tape he made with an old girlfriend to help him cope when family tragedy hits. When their dad suffers a heart attack, Shonzi, now 40, moves in with Todd and his new girlfriend. Shonzi wants desperately to be included in their relationship like old times.

Phillips - as both director and actor - has trouble with the film's key character; he's so insufferable, he upsets the delicate balance they seem to be going for. Go to Full Review

A movie that's admirably provocative, even if at times it seems to be more interested in being challenging than being entertaining. Go to Full Review

An impressive showcase for Phillips both in front of and behind the camera, showing a considerable restraint both in playing Shonzi and writing for him. Go to Full Review

Keeps buoyant with unexpected hits of comedy and mischief, but there's a true understanding of behavior to make matters beguilingly uncomfortable. Go to Full Review

08/07/2022 This is a terrible movie. What a waste of time. See more 03/24/2022 I've seen Melanie Lynskey in a good few movies but let's say this wasn't her best choice. Her casting for the role is excellent and she puts in a good performance but it couldn't save the movie. See more 08/31/2021 Inside joke. The girlfriend's a rootin tootin porn actress. Her shtick is younger guys. Not too bad. Pretty hot actually. Her legit acting isn't bad either. So this movie has undercurrents.
