lance c A well made period romance that is gritty and haunting. The soundtrack alone makes it worth watching more than once. The story offers a unique view of India during WW2 and a heart wrenching romance that was never meant to succeed. A good first Bollywood film to sample the genre Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't give out 5 stars easily and I wish I saw this movie on the big screen. I was skeptical about watching this movie. I was not sold out by the promos. And then it sat on my Netflix bookmark videos. This movie took me by surprise. Excellent story and direction and strong performances by pretty much everyone. David character was my favorite. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Not bad. It's on Netflix. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Indian Vue about fireworks party a couple of decades ago. Will make #Marsvision Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Overall I wound up liking this movie. I think that Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan all gave strong performances that carried the movie about a love triangle that takes place during WW2 and India's fight for independence. The movie could have been a little shorter, it got slightly long and redundant in a few spots, but overall a good movie Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Flawless work by Director Vishal Bhardawaj . Watch it for Epic Performances. And gripping storyline, beautifully crafted on a War front with outrageous cinematography. A must watch Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anil Sinanan Time Out Bollywood's attempt at a serious wartime romance is something of an ambitious misfire. Rated: 3/5 Oct 24, 2017 Full Review Simon Abrams Rangoon somehow manages to be emotionally resonant despite being overstuffed. This is no small feat given how many different genres, tones, and characters this film juggles. Rated: 3/4 Mar 6, 2017 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian In this time of pronounced division, it's reassuring to know east and west can still play nicely together. Rated: 4/5 Feb 24, 2017 Full Review Anna M.M. Vetticad Firstpost Chemistry is not a factor of good acting alone, it emerges from great writing. Therein lies the problem with Rangoon. Rated: 2.5/5 May 8, 2019 Full Review Rahul Desai Film Companion Much like Quentin Tarantino has done for years, master craftsman Vishal Bhardwaj creates the many worlds of Rangoon with one eye on the past and the other winking at the future. Rated: 3/5 Feb 5, 2019 Full Review Meena Iyer The Times of India Saif gives his movie-entrepreneur act a razor-sharp quality. And, Shahid is outstanding.
