The structure is fairly clever, starting towards the beginning but not quite at it, jumping forward and back, hopping around enough to keep the viewer on their toes and avoid the typical traps of the cradle-to-almost-grave profile. Go to Full Review

Rather, the man and the movie are equally impressive time capsules of a world drifting ever further into the past. Go to Full Review

The most interesting thing about Rather is how the evolution of his career runs parallel to historical events... from the Vietnam War to Watergate and the revelation of tortured prisoners in Iraq at the hands of US soldiers. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Frank M 06/04/2024 What a human being, what we most miss today, a truth teller. See more Tom M 05/24/2024 Amazing career (still going), amazing life, amazing human. All told in a very stylish and interesting way. See more dave d 05/22/2024 It's a rather straightforward autobiographical documentary feature on CBS news and American treasure Dan Rather. It shows a couple mistakes Rather made during his career, but this is not a warts and all doc by any means. Rather is a true believer and a genuine human. He is also journalist in a sea of lapdogs and propagandists. It's not perfect, but it's not the worst thing you'll watch. If you don't know much about the man, check him out while we still have him! Final Score: 7/10 See more Michael W @mawilps 05/11/2024 This biopic documentary was really good. Dan Rather and the entire crew did a fantastic job on making this documentary about the life and career of one of the most popular news anchors of all time. It really goes into detail on how he became so popular and what kind of reporting he wanted to do. If you haven't seen this documentary yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see.
