None of this works with Schreiber. With the guile and ease of a theater-trained actor, hes never overplayed Ray, putting extra stock into one-word sayings like sure and alright. Its still arguably his best and most challenging role.

The conclusions to many lingering questions only get a brief nod rather than a season eight exploration, but it thankfully resolves Ray's biggest headache... even if it's not the happiest of endings.

Not happy with the ending of Ray Donovan. There are still so many unanswered questions. They don’t show Conor at all. We’ve no idea what’s happened in his life. We never find out what Jimmy did to Abby. A nice ending would’ve been with Ray, Bridget and Conor sitting at the beach together. Some happiness after all the violence would’ve been nice!

Wow. I invested the time to watch 7 seasons Ray Donovan. The series, although very dark, was good but had a very poor ending. I was hoping the movie would tie everything up, but it left way more questions and answers. Overall, the movie wasn't even that good. Very disappointed.

When I saw the end of season seven I was livid. I wanted and needed more time with the Donovan family. This movie does give you that. The series, as a whole is about the son trying to forgive his father. I think we see that here we also see what sacrifices need to be made to stop generational trauma. There are still many questions left unanswered. It's a shame we may never get the answer to them
