01/29/2018 I went thinking, oh boy, a friend taking me somewhere because I care about trans stuff. I walked away stunned. Loving portrait of transgender boy, coming of age, his mother, coming to terms, and a touching mentor relationship. See more 06/20/2017 This is not a complete story of a transgender individual, but is the story of his decision period for (and outcome of) transition surgery. It could have included more details about the peer response to his early years, but nonetheless is a good documentary of this decision period. A follow-on would be useful to explore the long term satisfaction of the decision from a physical and emotional standpoint. His music mentor Joe also deserves a more thorough coverage.
