One of the most quintessentially anthropocentric space fantasies on screen. Go to Full Review

"The movie has just begun but it’s already clear what these new director’s cuts represent: They are bloodier, meaner, nastier, longer, and deeper versions of the Rebel Moon films that have already been released." Go to Full Review

What I like about these two films were the things I liked about the original versions, a certain homage to those fantastical Frazetta illustrations... They're still long and self-indulgent, only now two hours more so. Go to Full Review
Armond White National Review 08/09/2024
Instead of grasping the seriousness of conquest and resistance as experienced in human history, Snyder makes everything into a humorless Heavy Metal cartoon. Go to Full Review

Inside the aimlessness of Zack Snyder’s extended take on his already lengthy original film are scenes and moments of really satisfying science fiction. You just gotta get past all the space junk that surrounds them. Go to Full Review

Caitlin T @Cthom 2d To anyone feeling to watch a movie I can’t recommend Rebel moon directors cut any higher! It’s on Netflix and there’s a part one and two. Written by Zac Synder It’s the most insane movie I’ve watched in a long time Vikingesk mixed with alien worlds, sci-fi and colourful highly intense actions scenes bringing alive very confronting scenes that gave this moving an R18+ rating. The directing and videography is some of the most incredible I’ve seen and the actors and acting is in top tier with many Quinton Tarantino films. His brought back my faith in that new movies can be made and well directed, created with a vast imagination as well as in depth symbolism into the struggles we face in the power of war driven by greed and power. His created a world in film that can be quite tricky to wrapped your head around so have a lot of patience when watching the film and maybe watch it with someone who can understand J.R.R Tolkien’s The simalarion. Ultimately this movie introduces a new world with new intriguing possibilities. I can see the dirivative points some critics are stating, but atleast its not a reboot or complete brain rot writing that we see over and over these days. I for one am looking forward to more stories in this world. See more Pinoy Short R @emill_santos Nov 29 Sakto lang. Although mukha talaga siyang Star Wars wannabe, tumatak naman sa kanya un gore na wala sa una. Binabaan ko expectation ko dito dahil alam ko na bitin dahil nga meron pang pang 2 See more David M @dajunk Oct 21 The years of comparing this film to Star Wars tainted my expectations with no benefit to this film. I had a good time enjoying the visuals of the film but left wanting anything of substance to think about after the credits rolled. The story and pacing felt like I was watching a middle school production of Les Misérables. Like that musical I just wanted all the characters dead so I could have a better reason to not watch part two. I will never recommend anyone to watch this movie. See more Dominique T Oct 19 I enjoyed this movie. It had everything I enjoy: the underdog sticking it to the man, kicking *ss and taking names. I honestly don't know what the lemon sucking critics are on about. I tend to ignore them totally, most of them would give a negative review to a beautiful flower garden. If however you think I'm wrong, look these people up and see what kind of movies they give high scores to. A critic who prefers a drama is the last person you should take seriously when they write about a sci-fi movie. See more Char L Oct 1 Absolutely loved this! I love the originality on the hero/heroine’s journey, the action, the adventure, the strong cast and interesting plots woven together. I love the intensity of colour and artful composition. There are criticisms it’s like another Star Wars and the stories have been told before. It holds magic and potency. I felt from the heart, what it seeks to share. See more Read all reviews
