Roy McCormick (Martin Lawrence) is a college basketball coach more famous for his temper than for his coaching ability. After one of his rages gets him banned from the sport, Roy takes a job coaching basketball at a middle school in an attempt to repair his reputation. Amazingly, what Roy began as a show of rehabilitation begins to genuinely change him, and he learns to care for his team. Joshua Land Village Voice Lawrence coasts on star power, genially sending up his bad-boy persona. Jul 6, 2005 Full Review Daniel Fienberg Zap2it.com An underdog sports saga that skips nary a cliche on its nearly laughless journey. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 5, 2005 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Don't misunderstand me. This isn't a very good picture by any stretch of the imagination. All I'm saying is that it isn't a bad one, Carr and Lawrence keeping things relatively bouncy and benignly innocuous...
