Audience Member I went to avoid this film for the longest time because Asia Argento is kind of scuzzy-looking, and it looked like B-movie crap, but the poster is not only misleading, but completely ridiculous, Argento is third billing, and plays a straight-up cop, her "nicest" role I've seen to date, not some vamp with a gun and a tattoo. Directed by a pre-Transporter3/Taken2 Olivier Megaton, it evokes the same Luc Besson-ish themes, only in a better way than either of the Taken or Transporter films. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Megaton did a great job with Transporter 3 and Colombiana, really looking forward to Taken 2. This earlier work has similarities with Leon/The Professional. Instead of an apartment, it's a car, but they both end up at a hotel and have a shootout. The acting is dry, and the horrible operatic score at the end hurts it significantly, but the engaging directing and shootout makes it worth watching. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review dave j Wednesday, December 14, 2011 (2002) Red Siren THRILLER/ ACTION An adaptation of Maurice G. Dantec's La Sirene Rouge about 12 or 13 year old little girl coming into a police woman's(Asia Argento) office to report a murder of her favorite nanny for an extra marital affair between her mother and father except that she's wealthy and powerful and will do anything to prevent this from happening. While this little girl is escaping, she finally finds solitude when she meets up with a trained assassin who felt disturbed after accidently shooting a little boy happened at the start of this film and is wanting to make amends by helping the little girl find her biological father! Somewhat low budget and action-less until at least after the first hour when trained mercs entered the building where the assassin and the little girl are staying! this movie has it's moments but the plot is very conventional! This movie gets a pass since it does have potential! 2.5 out of 4 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Jean-Marc was the only reason to see this dribble. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I admit I bought this only because I've been in love with Asia Argento (which has nothing to do with XxX, because I've never watched that crap) for years. And I was surprised to find an entertaining action/thriller. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member hmmm strange film - a little bit like Leon but without the same level of style Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
