Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/21/24 Full Review deke p 1949 !! GEORGE RAFT, VIRGINIA MAYO, RAYMOND BURR. Very religious music, Bible verses & church scenes. Crime mystery, revenge story. I recognized CARMEL beach & Carmel MISSION! Raft, angry with God, breaks the church stained glass window & then ashamed he writes check for $20 to cover it. wm. frawley bit part as hotel clerk. Never heardo before saw on The Movie Channel 13.3, Feb 3, 2022. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review ashley h Red Light is a boring film. It is about a former employee of a trucking company who is in prison for embezzling the company. George Raft and Virginia Mayo give horrible performances. The screenplay is badly written. Roy Del Ruth did a terrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member a fair to good B movie film noir and Raymond Burr a bad guy to worth a viewing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member George Raft gets out of prison and then seeks answers and revenge from those who killed his brother. It's a rather turgid story and Raft's typically wooden performance doesn't help, but there's a strong supporting cast that includes Virginia Mayo, Gene Lockhart, Raymond Burr, Harry Morgan, and William Frawley. Directed by Roy Del Ruth, someone who I'd never really paid any attention to, actually directed this film noir with a fair amount of visual style, which was the main reason for holding my interest in the film. I wrote this review about a week after watching the film and I actually had to go to IMDB to remind myself what this film was about. That's how memorable the story was. Dimitri Tiomkin provided the score. And one note of trivia that I recently learned about star Raft, he was a functional illiterate who had to have his scripts read to him by others.
