Phil Hoad Guardian Hauntingly enigmatic in its storytelling, even with the highly controlled formalism, Reflection is both a shaken outcry for Ukraine and subdued declaration that hope still lies beyond. Rated: 4/5 May 30, 2022 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times It would be a bracing, haunting work even if it weren’t so timely. May 5, 2022 Full Review Leslie Felperin Hollywood Reporter The cruelty, for once, is not the point. There is a deeper, more nuanced story worked through here about betrayal and redemption, mercy and survival, all played out with great restraint thanks to Lutskiy's subtle performance... Sep 16, 2021 Full Review Ali Arkani Film Threat Reflection is a great war drama for those who like slow cinema. It is also a contemplative experience for those who love a deep and multi-layered cinematic experience. Rated: 8/10 Jun 30, 2022 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills Vasyanovych’s ascetic style remains the same, as he deploys mostly stationary, widescreen medium-to-longshots whose cool distance render the matter-of-fact presentation of atrocities even more squirm-inducing. May 23, 2022 Full Review Filipe Freitas Always Good Movies It's a demanding sit, a film both conscientious and indulgent, hopeful and exasperating. mr b Some may say it is borring, others may call it introspective. I did not like its static and long takes. I understand they were used as a tool here but they only made the film longer. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
