Honestly, I didn't think the movie was that bad — it wasn't anything special either, but again, it wasn't bad. I liked that it had a different style than Hollywood, which was actually pretty refreshing to me. It was a little choppy with the storyline and seemed indecisive about whether is was going to be a dark superhero movie or a comical one, but it was very original. I was entertained throughout the film. To reiterate, it wasn't that bad.

Doesn't mess around with the nuances of american movies, which honestly is very refreshing. The critics seemed to be obsessed with marking the checkpoints into what makes a good movie instead of sitting down and enjoying it. some say there are no special effects.. but that's simply not true. If you expect computer aided special effects, no none really. but i feel its this way for stylistic effect. Captures a gritty comic better than most movies i've seen.

Rendel could very well have been a revisionistic vigilante drama about corporate greed and urban crisis, yet its daffy script and bleakness mixed in with cheap genre tropes add up to a parody...not of the good variety though.
