      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Reno 911!'s anarchic brand of comedy loses much in translation to the big screen where it feels slapdash and shallow.

AB L Weird juvenile humor at it's very best. The whole cast does some of their funniest stuff here (like the show, Thomas Lennon and Kerri Kenney-Silver are always on some other level of brilliance) and more importantly the film has great re-watch value. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review andrew k Classic Reno 911. Forgot about the cameo from the Rock. Early in his acting career. Exactly what you'd expect if you like Reno 911. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member What a dumb movie but finally has a storyline . This movie is so so much better than the trashy repetitive tv show. So the gang is in Miami and they're up to their normal shenanigans again but this time they're actually funny. The gang roaming around Miami doing their dumb stuff is hilarious but gets horrible once Paul Rudd is the main villain for some odd reason. It's not like Paul Rudd caused the biochemical thing that trapped all the police officers in the convention center. He's a rip off Tony Montana. If this movie had a little more thought in the plot and connections then I would've given this movie a thumbs up. The jokes are funny, dumb but funny. In the end if this movie made little tweaks it would be good but it's great to see the gang in a different city. And it sucks that the sequel to this movie never will come out. The writers said that the sequel would see the gang on an island with a killer. That could've been interesting to see but unfortunately we'll never see it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Someone should really call 911, Because they just murdered Comedy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review robert p Wearing dinky tight pants won't get any better reviews than this! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The tv series is hilarious and works because of its series nature. Bringing it to big screen just doesn’t work out well. There are some funny moments but they are too few. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/16/20 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) Being this unfunny should be illegal. Rated: 1/5 Apr 27, 2007 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) It's the poor man's Police Academy VII: Mission to Moscow. Apr 27, 2007 Full Review Andrew Pulver Guardian Like some deformed offspring that's been walled up in an attic for 20 years, this resurrects the spirit of Police Academy. Rated: 1/5 Apr 27, 2007 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Unless you’re a die-hard fan of the characters, there’s no reason to see this picture. Audiences looking for something other than TV on the big screen will be disappointed—it’s a meagerly glorified four-part episode. Rated: 2/4 Mar 8, 2024 Full Review Troy Patterson Spin Maddeningly hit-or-miss, Reno 911! plays as if the filmmakers were aiming simply to outclass Police Academy 5. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 25, 2019 Full Review Mattie Lucas The Dispatch (Lexington, NC) The jokes are old and worn out, and the TV show's quick pace, which is so integral to its humor, is laboriously drawn out over 84 minutes.
