Audience Member I have no issue with the overall plot and performance of the actors. My only concern is the cinematography. This is filmed live on stage, why is the camera so shaky in some scenes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Awesome! So much better than the film was. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Those of us who love it always will. Those who don’t “get it” never will. Rent is a masterpiece, and this is a pitch-perfect production. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/14/19 Full Review Audience Member The cheese factor is thick in here. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Makes the Chris Columbus film seem like a high school gender studies project. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't usually give anything five stars because that is saved for something that satisfies me entirely and i have next to no problems. That is Rent. I discovered rent because we were singing Seasons of Love in choir and i decided to watch it (i didn't think i was going to like it because Rent sounds like such a stupid musical) i was completely blown away. The rawness and emotion put into the performances are amazing and the actors (especially Mimi, Mark, Angel and Roger) were all top notch. The music is amazing and i also can't get enough of those bohemian outfits which are so fun. The story is a balance of heartbreaking power ballads about mortality and loss, and fun and energetic songs about bohemia and love. In the end this is a celebration of life that everyone (even if they have already seen the mediocre movie) should see. This is my favorite musical/movie of all time and i'm so thankful to Jonathan Larson for bringing this amazing musical to life that changed broadway and so many lives forever.
