Test T I watched this on DVD and I must admit I was sceptical. As it turned out I need not have worried. It's a Scottish action highwayman comedy of the kind you really could not imagine. On the plus side it has likeable young lead actors who have good on screen chemistry and know how to deliver ernest comedy perfectly. It has a knock out soundtrack by Big Country which has been impressively arranged around the action scenes, many of which also benefit from great locations and awesome Scottish scenery. This makes a huge difference, and I wish all movies could look and sound as good as this one does. On the downside, the plot is far fetched to put it mildly, and the story does start to look sparse once the initial ideas have been revealed. Towards the end it feels like an extended high energy satirical Scottish tourist board advert. It is a fun romp none the less and certainly woth watching. Otherwise its a gentle drama, with some nice landscape shots and the like. If you struggle to follow Scots slang then this may prove an issue but otherwise I thought it was quite amusing and certainly entertaining, so I'd recommend it. The storyline is good overall but there are a couple of strange plot points. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved this movie in the 80s and still adore it 40 years later. It is one of those movies where everything aligns; the scenery, the chemistry between all the actors, and the utterly perfect music. I am so grateful to everyone involved in making this On of my all time favourite movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the best Ned Beatty movie you've never seen. Truly an overlooked gem of a film. Beautiful cinematography, fine acting and a good story. The sound track will move you. Yo will feel better after you see this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie has everything you need, beautiful scenery, feel good sentiment throughout, fab music by Stuart Adamson and Big Country, who doesn't have 92 minutes in their life to give a little love to this movie and Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️👍 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Peter Bradshaw Guardian Kids keep cropping up in the action - unsentimental and unimpressed by both the cops and the robbers.
