Critics Consensus

In attempting to meld his successful previous formulas with philosophical musings, Guy Ritchie has produced an incoherent misfire.

jamal j Nov 17 This movie is the reason why I've stopped trusting any of the so-called "critics". Unless you're acquainted with buddhism, or have an interest - even a general one - about human mind and projection, this movie will sound dull to you, which explains every movie critic who went to the movie expecting a bang bang Hollywood type of movie. If you happen to watch this movie, make sure you have the subtitles on. This is a movie that requires full attention. FULL. See more Katherine T Jul 21 Yes, this is a movie you have to watch closely, and I suggest you use the available subtitles so that you don't miss any nuances of interior and exterior dialogue. What Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham are trying to do here is not necessarily complicated, but you have to pay close attention. This is not your usual good guy/bad guy shoot 'em up. When you see the whole scheme, and I will try to not spoil it for anyone, you will realize, as Jason's character does, that nine years have gone into this con, and the ultimate aim is to destroy every rival that Jason's two cohorts have. There is a brilliant scene in an elevator with Jason having a heated argument with himself that anyone who has ever had conflicting thoughts about ANYTHING will see is a very real thing! And Ray Liotta also argues with himself, questioning his actions and motives, which you never see in an action movie. There is a lot going on in these gangsters' heads, so give REVOLVER a fair chance, and you may decide that it works, and very well. If you don't care for it, that's fine too. If we all liked the same movies, it would be a very boring film world. See more Jun 6 for the love of god and all that is holy on this earth, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. please, i am begging you, no joke, watch literally anything else. i would rather you watch crank 2 high voltage. i dont know what guy ritchie was smoking when he created this movie. Deeply esoteric, this movie is art, is what art is intended to be, to make you think and expand yourself by aligning with higher wisdom See more King D Mar 16 Guy Richie trying to relive his glory days and getting nowhere with this hero to zero movie. makes zero sense, has you asking questions which are never answered, should have known it was going to be terrible when we saw Jason Stathom with hair. Id give it zero stars if I could, almost a decent start to the film for 2 mins, then it delves into complete confusion for the entire movie then 10 mins before the end just completely ejects itself from any form of making some sort of sense. Terrible movie, dont bother. Guy Richie has been ruined by ego and seems like he could barely make a bowl of soup nevermind a good movie. See more Read all reviews
