Anton Bitel Little White Lies by replacing Tobe Hooper's bubba with a whole lot of blubber, Jlus Kemp's Harpoon: The Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre reinvents the southern gothic as a bloody Nordic seafaring saga. Dec 1, 2010 Full Review Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus Harpoon offers some wild kills, and a killer whale, and very little else. You've seen it all before, and you've seen it done better. Apr 7, 2020 Full Review Ard Vijn ScreenAnarchy I shouldn't be surprised that this film failed on almost every level, given the filmmakers previous work and I have to lay the blame on Kemp who should stick with producing films and have more competent directors handle the actual filmmaking. Jan 15, 2020 Full Review Simon Foster Screen-Space Deliberately OTT in its gory dispatches and crassly xenophobic enough to rile the intelligentsia, Kemp's riff of 'Texas Chainsaw'-style claustrophobic terror is neither as bad as some would have you believe nor as shocking as it makes itself out to be. Albert V A wild Scandinavian homage to the great Texas Chain Saw Massacre replacing chainsaws with harpoons, the late Gunnar Hansen making the most of his screen time, and a rip-roaring good time with some pretty intense kill scenes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/20 Full Review Audience Member Icelandic version of what is already a well-used formulaic horror scenario. It's not a bad effort, although some of the English language acting is ropey in places (I can't speak for the native stuff though). Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member An unashamed reworking of 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' which becomes fairly tedious through its lack of invention. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Typical slasher film with some good gore and kills, but the story itself is lame and filled with so many plot holes that it just gets borderline ridiculous. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member not too exciting and tensed, but at least not seen idea. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Just.....the worst! Watched it because of Gunnar Hansen and the blu-ray cover promised bloodshed but it never delivered. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
