Critics Consensus

Ride Like a Girl is far from the subtlest inspirational drama, but its fact-based story and charming cast are just enough to guide it down the stretch.

meredith w 01/29/2023 Regardless of what you may think of the sport of horse racing, this is an inspirational story, even more so because it is the true tale of Michelle Payne becoming the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup. Yet even with knowing its basics, it is still quite emotionally affecting at times, thanks to some great performances from a who's who of Australian film.
