Kristy Puchko Pajiba (It offers) a heady blend of love and pain that makes Rift feel like Call My By Your Name meets It Comes At Night. Oct 20, 2017 Full Review Stephen Farber The Hollywood Reporter Tighter editing would have enhanced the film's effectiveness. But the cinematography is striking, sound and music are superb and the two leading actors - who carry much of the movie by themselves - both give telling performances. Oct 17, 2017 Full Review Anton Bitel Sight & Sound an ambiguous, creepy study of conflicting desires and haunting pasts - as well as a literally glacial take on Don't Look Now. Oct 3, 2017 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Its success comes from the exquisitely built narrative that allows for multiple interpretations of the events, challenging the viewer to come to their own conclusions. Rated: 4/5 Feb 5, 2021 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed ... fascinating super slow-burn of a film that works if one is willing to give it the time to build its emotions and themes which it does with talent. Rated: 4.5/5 Apr 14, 2020 Full Review Kimberley Elizabeth Nightmare on Film Street We all get a little bit lost in Iceland, chasing the ghosts of an unfinished relationship, and something all-together more spooky. Audience Member Icelandic movie on a gay couple who reunite after Gunnar receives a phone call from his ex, Einar. But there are indications that the whole experience involves a ghostly presence. The atmosphere is tense, as you would expect in a ghost thriller, but the current still passes between the two, and you witness a very sweet and touching non-explicit scene in bed. Beautiful film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review kris i Makes no sense whatsoever, but it has some epic scenes and dialogues. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Everything from the slow pace, to the complex characters, to the beautiful cinematography and tense score help this film stand out both as an incredibly engaging thriller and as a deep personal drama. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I need the ending explained to me and then I’ll decide. :) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/01/18 Full Review Audience Member I liked the idea of an Icelandic LGBT horror movie, but alas it just consisted of two guys awkwardly standing around complaining about someone being outside. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie IS NOT HORROR. It makes no sense either. It's not a ghost story. It's not mystery. It's just rambling around the lava fields of Iceland with an existential theme. Garbage. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
