More brutally honest Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/14/23 Full Review Kate B I have only seen two episodes of the "The Lord of Rings, Rings of Power" series on Amazon Prime but find it astonishing in its beauty and cinematography. The eternal themes of good and evil, the variety of characters and their impact on their worlds are well rendered, the acting superb and the dialogue both intelligible and deep. A must see. Ok acting but the script is repetitive, the action is bare, the special effects were good but barely shown, and the directing was a fucking pain in my ass. Literally every other shot was the camera moving past objects while people talked. No sense of style whatsoever. At That Point I Tuned Out & Gave Up On Watching Random People Running, Screaming, Wheezing (Except For Some Random Key Characters Whom Seem To Have No Trouble. Breathing Indoors Or Out Or Even In The Heart Of An Active Volcano!!), Theres Crying, Poor Lil Kids Hurting, etc etc...All To End With The Expectant "Yaaay!! We Escaped A Volcano!"..Meh, Whatever.
