Michael Nordine Variety While unlikely to bring any nostalgia-minded fans of the series’ early-’90s heyday back into the fold, “Rise” is a serviceable — if also forgettable — entry in the cowabunga canon. Aug 5, 2022 Full Review Claire Shaffer New York Times “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie” won’t convert any new fans to the heroes in a half-shell, unless they’re under the age of 10. Still, it may pleasantly surprise parents looking for an afternoon cartoon movie to watch with their kids. Aug 4, 2022 Full Review Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Movie is one of the best action films of the year and although it’s not a genre but a medium, it’s one of the best animated films of the year. Rated: 5/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Ayeen Forootan In Review Online This latest Ninja Turtles product is a narratively lazy and formally chaotic bit of empty IP. Aug 23, 2022 Full Review Andre Meadows Black Nerd Comedy The animation and Rise of the TMNT is glorious. Aug 19, 2022 Full Review Peter Canavese Groucho Reviews An animated action comedy with postmodern gags and which trusts the ability of kids to keep up with more winding plots and sophisticated jokes. Angel R Don't be fooled by the haters! This movie, and the show it came from, is downright excellent! A great starting point and a great movie for animation fans, TMNT fans, and non TMNT fans. First, the animation. Not only is the style unique, but it is buttery smooth, wonderfully expressive, and has some fantastically choreographed action scenes. The backgrounds are stellar, the lighting is amazing, and characters make excellent use of their designs. Raph has weight and presence whenever he's on screen. Leo is light on his feet, quick witted, clever, and equal parts lethal and restrained in his sword strikes. Donnie is an intellectual, witty, and atomic force to be reckoned with, and Mikey is spry yet powerful, deadly, and downright mystifying. Without spoilers the movie has some amazing character moments, tons of personality. You can tell these are characters that have known and loved each other their whole lives. It will make you laugh, cry, hold on to the edge of your seat. This movie should have gone to theaters. If you've never tried TMNT before, if you love animation, or if you're an anime fan, this is the movie for you! Don't listen to all the Debbie downers about Rise of the TMNT. It is awesome and it deserves a chance! And any hard core hand drawn animation fan or future animator deserves to see this show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Estevan G Rise is one of the worst use of the TMNT IP ever. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/28/24 Full Review Null S Perfect turtle action for all ages! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/21/24 Full Review Tururu r Love this movie so much! Great animation Great charecter development great plot and overall got nothing but praise for it:D i really Hope it gets popular enough for us to get a season 3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/14/24 Full Review Renaissance Man R This movie forgot to take its ADHD medication. Disrespects the source material, and too violent for kids, I don't know who this was made for. Easily the worst piece of turtles media I have ever seen. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/11/24 Full Review Chael B An awesome finale to one of the greatest animated shows of all time that is not only beautiful too look at, but also tells and emotional and powerful story.
