It keeps you interested all the way through. If you're not a fan of skateboarding you might want to steer clear. If you're a fan of talented people losing their gift to drugs and crime then finding God, then this documentary is for you. When I was a punk kid skateboarder back in the 80's I started out on a Vision Gator but eventually got a Hosoi Hammerhead and began playing on a vert ramp. Ohh those were good days and there was no name bigger than Christian Hosoi. Everywhere I looked there he was launching massive Christ Airs. In the summer of 1990 I meet Christian Hosoi and got his autograph, but by then I had moved on to Mountain Biking; it was still cool meeting this legend. This is a good documentary about the rise, fall and rebirth of a legend. One will especially enjoy it if they too came of age skateboarding back in the 80's. This movie documents this skaters rise to fame, life at the top, and eventual plummet into methamphetamine addiction... and his then rebirth. Similar to the movie 'Stoked: The Rise and Fall of Gator", but with a more happy ending. The first half of the movie is completely captivating, but as he descends into addiction it gets harder to watch. Great movie for fans of skateboarding or good documentaries.
