The Transpacific Yacht Race, an annual event covering over 2000 miles between Southern California and Hawaii, is a grueling task that requires immense determination, bravery and skill. In the 1997 race, the yacht Survivor is piloted by a crew of HIV-positive men, many of whom have little or no sailing experience. Besides the drama of the crew's personal stories, the boat nearly capsizes on more than one occasion and suffers damage while passing through a storm.

Audience Member Inspiring documentary that shows that an HIV diagnosis doesn;t mean you have to take to bed and wait to die. Being that I've worked in the past with HIV and AIDS-effected kids, and I've seen the effects of the disease up close and personal, it was nice to see a documentary that deals with disease in an uplifting way. Most people would probably like this, if you can catch it on LOGO. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
