Synopsis
In this film based on the historic, real-life court case, a pregnant carnival barker in rural Texas (Holly Hunter) struggles to find a doctor willing to perform an abortion. Instead, she's recommended to two lawyers who need a plaintiff for their lawsuit in an attempt to change the abortion laws in Texas. The pseudonymous Jane Roe and her lawyers face off against Dallas district attorney Henry Wade, and the two sides fight all the way to a landmark decision in the Supreme Court.
