Jacob B A delightful romcom with great performances from its two leads, hilarious moments, heartfelt scenes and a surprisingly bittersweet conclusion, Roman Holiday is, as the adage goes, an oldie but a goodie. Wow, what a daring and controversial opinion, I know. Sometimes a film can just be breezy fun about a countess taking a break from her duties before coming home gaining more agency who won't be told what she can and can't say. Somebody will probably do a better job than me talking about her character arc in a video essay one day. But yes, Roman Holiday is a sweet film, go watch it if you haven't already. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/25 Full Review Alessio C "Roman Holiday" (1953) turned out to be exactly the kind of film you just sink into. Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn make a perfect duo – charming, playful, and believable. The humor still works, the pacing is smooth, and the whole thing has this warm, lighthearted atmosphere that makes it feel timeless. And then there’s Rome – not just a backdrop, but a character on its own. Those familiar streets and piazzas hit me with a wave of nostalgia, reminding me of my own trip to Italy. It’s not the greatest masterpiece ever made, but it’s definitely one of those films you can rewatch and feel comfortable in every time. Solid 8/10. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/19/25 Full Review Elena K It was exceptional, I enjoyed every second of this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/17/25 Full Review Marce S Beautiful setting and charismatic acting by Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck and Eddie Albert. The plot was a little to strained even for a 1950s romantic comedy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/13/25 Full Review Curtis M “Roman Holiday” is both delightfully wholesome and unexpectedly chaotic—I loved every moment of it and never wanted it to end. Audrey Hepburn absolutely earned her Oscar for her radiant portrayal of Princess Ann, a young royal longing to escape the constraints of her daily life. Gregory Peck is equally brilliant as the charismatic American reporter who crosses her path. Together, they make a fascinating pair, their chemistry carrying the film in the most effortless way. The story takes turns that feel fresh and unpredictable, leaving me wishing there had been a sequel. Overall, it’s a truly wonderful film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review Pete B Prove me wrong: Breakfast at Tiffany's is the Audrey Hepburn film that most people rave about, but this is her best.
