Sure it's a tad corny but it's light, fun and easy to watch. The two main characters work well together and Jaicy Elliott is brilliant. This is the first movie I've seen her in and we need to see more of her. She's a natural and reminded me a bit of Amy Schumer. It's a cute movie. Unlike other films where the leads share intimate moments, this one seemed to avoid that aspect. While Ella's physical appearance shouldn't be a factor, her character came across as mean and insufferable, which made it difficult to sympathize with her. On the other hand, Derek's performance was strong and well-executed. However, the overall dynamic between the two did not feel genuine. It's good for passing time but I couldn't finish it just because of the main character (Ella) is very insufferable, every interaction she has with her love interest comes out as being mean for no reason.
