Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) This is probably the most insightful film about the life of a footballer off the pitch since Vikash Dhorasoo's Substitute. Rated: 4/5 Nov 5, 2015 Full Review Kevin Maher The Times (UK) A grossly uncritical slice of hagiography. Rated: 1/5 Nov 5, 2015 Full Review Wendy Ide Guardian This is for fans only. Rated: 2/5 Nov 5, 2015 Full Review PJ Nabarro Patrick Nabarro This otherwise sterile example of the hagiographical sports documentary is redeemed by its inadvertent exposé of just how bland and narcissistic Cristiano Ronaldo's life is. Rated: 2/5 Nov 12, 2021 Full Review Mikel Zorrilla Espinof Self-promotion exercise to inflate the protagonist's ego, the film tries to be not so explicit about its goals, but with no success. [Full Review in Spanish] Aug 30, 2019 Full Review Alberto Abuín Espinof A complete waste of time unless you are a diehard fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The great CR7 The movie is a documentary about his life and what it is like growing up in Portugal and pursuing his long life dream on becoming a professional soccer player. For this movie I expected to learn a little bit more about who really was Cristiano Ronaldo, and all the hard times he had following his soccer career and all the good times he had before becoming one of the greatest soccer players of all time. I also expected him to talk about his "rivalry" with another great soccer player, Lionel Messi and a little bit of selfishness because Ronaldo is a very confident guy. He did indeed talk about in his movie about what it was like growing up in Portugal and how hard it was for him when his dad died from a disease called cirrhosis, when he was 20 years old. He did also talk about Messi and said how they have great respect for each other, and he also said that there really isn't a rivalry between them it's all something the media came up with and all the Barcelona fans and Real Madrid fans. I also expected a lot of passion and almost like conceited words from him in the movie and talking about how great he was, at one point in the movie he asked, "who is the greatest soccer player in the world?" Of course Ronaldo answered his own question with "Me". The greatest soccer player to ever step foot on a football pitch? That question debatable but one thing is for sure, Cristiano Ronaldo is by far one of the hardest working soccer players that has ever stepped foot on a football pitch and for sure one of the greatest. Every time he puts on his soccer boots, he's always finding a way to help his team succeed or help a teammate out and that's something not every soccer player has to offer. I am not a "diehard" fan of Cristiano but I do admire his passion for the game. I would give this movie a 3 star on the movie because I like the way it told us more about Cristiano Ronaldo and who he really is but I would of liked if they would of added a little bit more about all the great things he has accomplished at Manchester United and Real Madrid.
