Walter Goodman New York Times It's a picturesque movie, filled with advertisements for Sweden's crashing waterfalls, deep woods and stony caverns. Dec 20, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Tia B One of my all time favourite movies. It combines the lightness of a childhood in nature with serious and challenging topics, such as the tension between youre ideals and goals as an adult and the relationship with youre child aswell as the issue of loyalty to friends and family. The childlike lightness and the exploration of these more serious topics are woven together beautifully and create a relaxing, heartwarming yet also educational movie experience. A worthy filming of Astrid Lindgrens wonderfull classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Cees T So slow, it could be a 4 part miniseries. The baddies are harpies, trolls, selkies(?), humans, and gnomes, but the battles are mostly offscreen. It's an okay romantic drama, but for plot see The NeverEnding Story (also from 1984). Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/24 Full Review Audience Member Classic and a film every kid in Sweden should see and I think they do. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Childhood memories! Loved the book. Nice movie, just sweet and kind. Beautiful scenery, and too great that it is in Swedish. :-) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member 'Ronja: The Robber's Daughter' remains as one of my favourite childhood stories. Seen the film twice and all I can say is that the magic still remains. The characters are lovable and the acting decent. It's a perfect family movie, because there's enough excitement to keep the more mature audience interested and the younger ones on the edge of their seats. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Herlige liten klassikar det her. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
