Rex Reed Observer There is nothing charming, appealing, or remotely memorable about a thing called Rumble Through the Dark. Rated: 1/4 Nov 10, 2023 Full Review Douglas Davidson Elements of Madness ... looking for something more adult and less direct may find their cinematic needs satisfied, even if the structure is fairly rote for this genre of picture. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 18, 2023 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews It's a dour character study of a boxer who stumbles through life barely able to function. Rated: B- Nov 30, 2023 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media Despite some nonsensical, coincidental plot turns, this drama still manages to compel with its vivid depiction of the Mississippi Delta and the characters living there. Rated: 3/5 Nov 14, 2023 Full Review Joel Copling Spectrum Culture The movie is unconvincing. It all comes down to that – a feeling that what we have just watched is manipulative down to its very fiber. Nov 8, 2023 Full Review Daniel Eagan Film Legacy Aaron Eckhart has made a career out of over-performing in vehicles that don’t deserve him. He’s all sinew and bone here, spitting blood, tearing up motel rooms, hallucinating about his past. He elevates the entire film. Nov 3, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Jerod S Eckhart and Thorne are an oddball combo that don't really connect until the last quarter of the film. It's an odd plot build around Eckhart being a fighter that barely makes it through daily life. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/20/24 Full Review DuVay K AARON ECKHART played the HELL outta this beaten up fighter role. And BELLA THORNE can git it. Whenever. Tattooes on dem long, nice size Thigh Meats. Meawhile, in the end I guess this was just a BACKWOODS/BACKWARDS kinda ROCKY. Dem BRASS KNUCKLES tho. I read the book by the same guy who wrote the script: MICHAEL FARRIS SMITH. Trope: The book was better. But thats not to say the flick was horrible. It was decent. ECHART channeling his Inner, 1800s Bare Knuckler pioneer, JOHN L. SULLIVAN. Now, it will be interesting to see how SMITH develops from here. His other movie he scripted also based off his other book, DESPERATION ROAD, wasnt as good as this one. But def also showed promise. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Mauro L (Mauro Lanari) I don't know what forced or convinced Eckhart to repudiate blockbusters from Covid onwards. In this case the plot is already in the title of the novel from which the film is based, "The Fighter", and when it is not a hallucinatory ride from the subjective point of view of Jack "Butcher" Boucher's disturbed mind, it is an objective description of the circus agglomeration not of freaks but of desperate people who are born, exist and die traumatized. Depressing? Truthful. The scene in which the protagonist has a new pair of sunglasses with the price tag still attached that dangles over his nose should be considered a classic. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/07/24 Full Review Jimmy T Slow pace but it's gritty and I loved how it developed as it went along. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Lloyd S Awful movie, won't recommend it even to my dog. Too long and full of unnecessary events. They added his childhood instead of his past boxer career. No backstory, no interesting characters. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review nilufer e It did pass the time but quite slowly. It was long and rather uneventful. Acting was below average and the story was lame. Soon to be forgotten. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
