Audience Member Totally bat shit crazy stuff going on here and I loved it! Then the film pulled the rug out from under me and decided to go full bore spiritual on me! Bummer! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A fair romantic-comedy with a mind-bending ending. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A strange multi-genre blending film with a very interesting message (considering the amount of action violence in the film) about karma and not extending the cycle of vengeance. Won plenty of awards in Hongkong and Asia. Andy and Cecilia put in a good effort and To's direction is fluidly effortless as usual. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Instantly became my personal favourite, it's a genre-marathon, with supernatural thriller, romance, comedy, martial arts, drama all involved. It has a strong Buddhist message involved in the film (Karma may determine our future but we can still change it if we try) and a tragic ending. Despite the little flaws in some of the sub story lines and ridiculous actions, it provided something that not only entertains, but also educational. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member My son and I sometimes rent films we think sound awful and play MST3000 with them. The basic story of Running on Karma was so implausible, we sat down with popcorn and glee preparing to demolish it. What happened then was the best lesson on the ideology of karma that I have even seen. The twisted plot, always pretty entertaining, demonstrated the concept of why the innocent may have to suffer. We started by laughing at the movie, and ended up enthralled by it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member The swings of genre and mood are extreme, and lovely Cecilia Cheung's character doom, while expected, is rather shocking. Enjoyable for the sheer amount of weirdness, from Andy Lau Muscle Man version to Yogi killers, that the flick staysinteresting and everything works is quite a miracle, but Buddha can do this and even more.
