Driving vehicles that are little more than gas-filled, rolling bombs, Hunt and Lauda burn up the track, all the while pushing themselves to the breaking point of physical and mental endurance. Howard creates a persuasive sense of the time and place, and the race sequences are impressively mounted. This is thrillingly tense stuff, even if you know how the story panned out. Go to Full Review

While it has its moments of sentimentality, the film as a whole is rather shallow and fails to capture the soul of either man. Go to Full Review

Faiz S @RT19049740 Jul 1 I watched *Rush* without expecting much, but it turned out to be one of the best sports dramas I've seen. The movie isn't just about Formula 1—it's about ambition, rivalry, ego, and the different ways people chase success. Chris Hemsworth was fantastic as James Hunt, and Daniel Brühl's performance as Niki Lauda was outstanding. Their rivalry felt real, and neither character was shown as simply the hero or the villain. The racing scenes are intense, but what kept me hooked was the story behind the drivers. It shows how two completely different personalities can push each other to become better. Even if you don't follow F1, I'd still recommend it. It's well-paced, emotional, and based on a true story, which makes it even more impactful. Definitely an 8.5/10 from me. See more Jaisibi S @RT14436527 Apr 12 Rush is a fantastic film that stands out because of its intense rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda. The movie keeps you engaged throughout, especially with its edge-of-the-seat racing sequences. The performance by Daniel Brühl as Niki Lauda is exceptional and feels very authentic, while Chris Hemsworth brings great energy to James Hunt. The music by Hans Zimmer adds to the intensity and emotion of the film. The climax, especially the final moment where Lauda expresses his thoughts about Hunt, is very impactful and gives a strong emotional finish. Overall, Rush is a highly engaging and satisfying film with great performances, music, and storytelling. See more Nader F. @knownasnad Apr 1 91% I went into this wanting to hate Jake, I really did. But I just couldn’t. The more the film unfolds, the more you realize that this is simply who he is. Niki, on the other hand, isn’t perfect either. There were moments where I found myself frustrated with him, questioning some of his traits, yet at the same time, I couldn’t help but admire and respect him. The cast as a whole is exceptional, completely in sync with the intensity of the story. The direction is nothing short of brilliant, capturing both the adrenaline of the races and the quiet, emotional weight behind them. And then there’s the score, which elevates everything. I never expected to feel this emotionally invested in an F1 movie, but it completely caught me off guard. It’s breathtaking, intense, and surprisingly reflective. A film that stays with you, not just for the spectacle, but for the lesson it leaves behind. Easily a peak entry in its genre. See more Mohammed H @Tomatoer Feb 25 Rush is more than a racing film it's a powerful look at the rivalry and mutual respect between two legends, James Hunt and Niki Lauda. The contrast between their personalities is portrayed brilliantly, and it's what gives the story so much depth. Daniel Brühl as Lauda delivers a performance that feels incredibly real. One of the most powerful moments comes when he reflects on Hunt after his death it hits with quiet intensity and says so much with so few words. The cinematography, the energy, the emotion everything comes together perfectly. Whether you're into Formula 1 or not, this is a film that grabs you from the start and stays with you long after it ends. See more Zane T @ZaneThind Feb 19 A movie about heated rivals who eventually gained respect for each other. The movie shows two polar opposites coexisting with each other to make racing not just more popular but also putting the best in each other despite dire consequences for both. Backed by an epic emotional score from Hans Zimmer, great acting from Daniel Bruhl and Chris Hemsworth, and masterful direction from Ron Howard. One of the best movie of the 2010s, 2013 and perhaps the best racing movie ever put out there. See more Read all reviews
