Stephen L Ron Howard’s Rush is an exhilarating and sharply focused biopic that captures the high-stakes rivalry between Formula 1 legends James Hunt and Niki Lauda with remarkable clarity and intensity. The film moves with the same velocity as the cars it depicts — sleek, aggressive, and purposeful — but never loses sight of its characters. Hemsworth embodies Hunt’s recklessness and charisma without overplaying it, while Brühl’s layered performance as Lauda brings a dry wit and intensity that anchors the film emotionally. Visually, Rush is stunning. The racing sequences are some of the best committed to film — visceral, clean, and tense without ever feeling overedited. But what elevates it is how well it blends thrill with reflection. It's a story about competition, respect, and obsession that never forgets to be entertaining. Where this film slightly falls short is through its provision of a *slight* exaggeration on the personality and bawdiness of James Hunt, as well as subtly feeling somewhat like a documentary instead of a creative piece of work at times.
