Critics Consensus

Rush Hour 3 is a tired rehash of the earlier films, and a change of scenery can't hide a lack of new ideas.

Ben Walters Time Out Rated: 1/5 Nov 18, 2011 Full Review Tim Grierson Screen International No matter how fast Chris Tucker shoots his mouth or Jackie Chan flashes his fists, they can't recapture the charm of the original Rush Hour in this third installment. Jul 23, 2008 Full Review Nick De Semlyen Empire Magazine Like Lethal Weapon, this franchise has become lazier and less thrilling with each instalment. Hopefully, unlike Lethal Weapon, they'll stop at Part Three. Rated: 2/5 Aug 17, 2007 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Somehow manages to be even lousier than the second film. Rated: 1/4 Aug 14, 2023 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Remarkably redundant yet still highly entertaining. Rated: 7/10 Nov 27, 2020 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com By the third time around, though, we know that these two get along and it's just not as funny anymore. Daniel S By the 3rd film, the chemistry between these guys is the star of the show and the friendship (odd couple) shines through. The cab driver is undoubtedly a dark horse in this one. I wish they would have made a 4th film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review Alexander S Rush Hour 3 is just fine. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan don’t disappoint, but it was the story chosen that didn’t maintain their energy. Something in the film needed to match the first two to keep this entertaining franchise at an even level as the first two films. Grading: C Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/25 Full Review Jonathan O Not be the best trilogy and some of the jokes are great and others are too racial and offensive and there's a bit of weirdness behind the camera with Brett Ratner's perverted style. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/25 Full Review Jelisije J Definitely not a classic as the first two film,s but it still made me laugh and the story overall made sense. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/25 Full Review Ben L After rewatching the first 2 on Netflix, finally saw this third..and it’s pretty good. Don’t get the critics hate for it at all. Maybe people were tired of buddy cop movies by then..anyway Roman Polanski ? Max Von Sydow? Over alol another good 90 minute action movie! (Remember those). Recommend for fans who missed it the first time, like me. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/25 Full Review Farren D I think that even though it’s not the worst movie in the world, it comes nowhere close to the comedy and action in the first two Rush Hour movies. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/11/25 Full Review Read all reviews
