Johanna Schneller Globe and Mail Why do so many Canadian films rely on overwrought conceits? Why isn't reality good enough? Rated: 2/4 Dec 9, 2016 Full Review Bruce DeMara Toronto Star One is left with the gnawing feeling that the film could have been edgier and funnier and that it doesn't authentically reflect the adolescent experience. Rated: 2/4 Dec 8, 2016 Full Review Jill Wilson Winnipeg Free Press There's a kernel of a good idea in the hot mess that is Sadie's Last Days on Earth. Unfortunately, the film surrounding it is as shoddily constructed as a bunker with a swinging door. Rated: 1.5/5 Dec 9, 2016 Full Review Chris Knight National Post Sadie's Last Days doesn't take itself too seriously and doesn't want us to, either; Donnie Darko this ain't. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 9, 2016 Full Review Norman Wilner NOW Toronto Sadie's Last Days On Earth gets more things right than it misses. Its pessimistic comedy is layered with genuine feeling. Audience Member Too weird for a teen audience and too juvenile for a adult audience. Can't tell who the prospective audience is supposed to be. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I had high hopes. A girl obsessed with the end of the world, focused every moment on survival has so much potential and seemed very interesting. I couldn't wrap my mind around the idea that someone who is obsessed with the end of the world would prioritize the learning of cooking, knitting and kissing a boy as her top priorities in the last days. It lost me with that. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member It's actually a very well made dialog driven drama. It lacks a lot of the actual harshness it hints at in teen life but is certainly well written nonetheless and worth seeing. I didn't know what to expect and was quite amused.
