Audience Member Fascinating. Makes me think. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member When it started I was worried it was going to be another puff piece on third world labor exploitation, but it turned out to be a really deeply emotional human narrative. People everywhere have problems be them well off piggery workers in Denmark or polish beef slaughterers. I especially liked the mixture of what you saw and what you heard. A man talking about his wife cheating on him whilst pictures of cows having their neck slit. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Oh my. Depressing stuff.. But educational, everybody ought to see this. Maybe a few more of us would end up vegetarians... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review sean l An eight-country tour of the vital ingredients that go into making a can of pre-packaged ravioli. It ducks the usual gross-out exploitative route (though there are a few unavoidable scenes set in an active slaughterhouse) by focusing on the personal stories of individual workers at each location. That shifts the tone from a disturbing stomach-shifter to a real human interest story, spiced with dashes of sadness, contentment, vengeance and yearning. For those of us watching from the comfort of our first world couches, it's a vivid, tangible example of the lives our counterparts lead elsewhere in the world. Captivating, stirring and educational, if occasionally too sentimental and lingering. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
