What to Know

Critics Consensus

Writer-director Hue Rhodes' debut is a poorly-paced, forgettable comedy that wastes the quirky talents of stars Steve Buscemi and Sarah Silverman.

Far from a masterpiece, but Rhodes gives Buscemi a role ripe with emotion and a fascinating complexity. Buscemi returns the favor by powering the film with an engaging oddity. Go to Full Review

It's a kind of cinematic purgatory, halfway between eternal reward and eternal damnation. The question is: What did I do to deserve such mediocrity? Go to Full Review

Theoretically, Saint John of Vegas may look good from a distance, but when seen up close it's only a house of cards. Go to Full Review

The performances are strong--even the minor characters--and the atmosphere and tone are spot-on for a dark comedy. Go to Full Review

03/10/2020 A good experience, well played by Buscemi. Entails a bit of the underbelly of Vegas. A few weird twists. See more 01/28/2015 Una película con situaciones muy divertidas, mantiene la tensión y un final inesperado. Nunca adiviné que iba a suceder. Gran película, no entiendo cómo a la mayoría de la gente no le gustó, yo me divertí mucho. See more 08/18/2013 While not having anything terribly bad about it, Saint John of Las vegas hasn't got that much which is very good, settling for alright. I like all the actors and characters, there is an alright story idea. Somehow none of it seems to get developed to it's potential and it's frustrating for the viewer. Had it been a little more quirky, a little more raunchy, a little more violent - it would have been more memorable. It had an R rating and did nothing with it. See more 06/07/2013 Not just boring, but interestingly boring. See more 05/18/2013 I didn't hate it but it seemed very pointless See more @BlackCloud13 04/07/2013 Some funny moments, but overall not so great. See more Read all reviews
